Frank Schuetzendorf

Senior Advisor

Frank’s German upbringing combined with 15 years of living in Paris has cultivated his unique appreciation for structure and efficiency combined with an artistic sensibility. Whether he’s working with a large luxury hotel brand, an independent boutique property, or a luxury resort, his experience allows him to translate corporate strategy into operational reality.  The opportunities he’s had to work with eminent chefs like Alain Ducasse, Jean-Georges Vongerichten, Christian Jürgens and Heinz Beck have all shaped his vision and approach towards creative concept development. Stretching the imagination, challenging the status quo, and pursuing a competitive edge and resilient strategy lie at the core of each new model design. Product and service innovation combined with profitability form the basis of this approach.

His second life as a consultant and faculty member of leading hospitality schools has allowed him to reset and gain a truly global perspective of our industry. Ongoing research involved in new program development allows Frank to formalize new visions around what the future of hospitality could—and perhaps should—look like.

The hospitality industry is in a state of flux. COVID-19 will inevitably change the current positioning of hospitality operators. Priorities will need to be reconsidered, opportunities need to be further developed upon and explored, and R&D needs to become part of operational routine. Technology and sustainability practices will be more widely adopted, whilst never forgetting the human touch—the guiding principle of human communications allowing us to continue to touch people’s hearts.

Therefore, Frank sees his role to be a key actor in the process of translating initiatives into practical reality in an industry that has been resisting change for a long time and which needs to adapt to the new world views of next-generation travelers.
